Prevalent Echos (work in progress)

Prevalent Echos approximates the cumulative acoustic footprint of freight vessels and ferries that traverse through the Salish Sea. This interactive visualization uses marine tracking data to animate gestural pulses emanating from each ship, which correlate to the size of the vessel and its speed. Viewers can toggle different classes of vessels and zoom in to understand their patterns of movement and relative impact to acoustic habitats.
